200,000 vaccinated overseas students and skilled professionals are expected to return to Australia soon.

The announcement comes as the government prepares to reduce quarantining laws, which will begin next week.

According to Prime Minister Scott Morrison, students, skilled professionals, and working holiday makers would be able to land at Sydney and Melbourne airports without having to apply for an exception from the travel restriction as of December 1.

“The return of talented workers and students to Australia is a huge milestone in our route back,” Morrison said. “It’s a major milestone about what Australians have been able to do and enable us to do.”

Vaccinated Japanese and South Korean nationals, as well as individuals on humanitarian visas, will be able to enter without being quarantined.

When ordinary visitors are permitted to return, the administration has yet to make a decision.

The administration, on the other hand, has yet to decide when ordinary visitors would be permitted to return.

“I think Australians are very keen to see us take this step-by-step approach,” added Morrison.

“They’ve gone through a lot and made a lot of sacrifices to guarantee that we can open securely and stay open safely,” he continued.
